More in Cazani

First floor Cazani. Obviously, unused :(

We found a lot of unused recycling bins. Not sure if they stay in Cazani or if they migrate around campus.
Hiding in the closet.

In IT.

There was also one upstairs (2nd floor) in the supply room of the offices. Rumors say there's a possibility of more in individual offices. Overall: lots of recycling bins, almost more unused than used.

Battelle Hall

In Battelle Jeremy, Brittney and myself found two locations for metals recycling, one for wood and one for cardboard boxes. There were no recycling bins for plastics, cans, paper ect. We were specifically told that there used to be but no one respected the recycling only and it became a trash can.I guess this is because there was a lack of trash cans, although it has gotten better.

"CycleRe"

So, I was responsible for the first two floors of the AMF building. I found what appeared to be a recycling bin that had been painted with the title of "CycleRe," but unfortunately it had a black trash bag in it, with of course trash. I have been monitoring it and it remains to only hold trash. So, I'm not going count it as a recycling bin. This is on the first floor in the entrance area. Other than that, I found nothing.

Sorry Environment,
Taylor
I searched the second floor of Kinney Hall and did not come across any form of recycling.

First Floor Crane

I was surprised to find a pretty good amount of recycling bins throughout the first floor of Crane. I found one outside of the cafe, five throughout the one stop area, and a few in the computer/workspace area. Also, I snapped a shot of the large recycle bins located between the Administration building and Crane building.

Second Floor Crane

Second floor of Crane is the Interior Design main level and through all the labs and labyrinths of that floor I was only able to find this recycling bin near the balcony overlooking the first floor/starving artist cafe.

I am trying my blog for the second time, So I walked Kinney hall first floor and found two bins. The tiny blue one is located under the computer table(which you can barely see) The second one is located in the corner at the end of the hall and you can recycle paper and plastic. I also found out the Bookstore does not recycle anything and they have no idea where all the empty boxes and wrappings go once they leave the store.......

CIrcle Hall (recycling)

I found NO recycling bins in Circle Hall. I found about six trash cans, and a big dumpster outside, but nothing for recycled items.

-Alyssa Palladino
I found ZERO recycle bins in the 3rd floor of the Fine Arts building. I found 3 overflowing trash cans, and containers for disposal of solvents, etc. but NO recycle bins.

Here are the TEAMS, who's working on what building...

On Thurs Sept 9th, I offered this project as extra credit, and these students were in class and assigned to these groups, working on these CCAD buildings. I'm providing the list here so folks can see what building they are on, and who they are working with. Each of you has received an email from me as well, containing the contact emails of your team-mates, so you can communicate about your assignment.

WELCOME to the CCAD recycles - LA261 Ecology blog

Hello students! After wrestling with GoStudio, I decided that Blogger would be a better place to post your findings about where you might find recycling bins on CCAD's campus.

Reminder: for those of you in class on Thurs 9 Sept, this was offered as a 10-point extra credit. To earn that extra credit, work with your "building team" to walk through the buildings, and take photos of bins where you see them. Cell phone images are just fine. We are documenting what we see, as well as what we don't see. If you have walked an entire floor of a building, and seen ZERO recycling bins, post that as well.

HOW DO I POST, you ask?
After you agree to sign in as an author, you will have permission to CREATE A POST. When you create a new post you can paste in images within that post. You cannot put in images if you only are RESPONDING to a post. Email me if you run into problems, ok?

To earn your extra credit points, each of you should make posts about where you walked, post any photos that are relevant, and describe what you did/didn't see.  All extra credit posts must be made by Exam 1 if you are to receive credit.

Thanks, and have fun you recycling sleuths!
